Cardamom is native to Guatemala, where it is referred to as the “Queen of Spices.”
Use: Green cardamom is complementary to both sweet and savory foods. Traditionally, cardamom has been used to flavor Danish pastries, cakes, and biscuits. The Indians add it to many curries, and in the Middle East it is used to enhance coffee.
Health Benefits: Cardamom has antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal properties. May aid in digestion by stimulating digestion and reducing gas and acid. May be beneficial to the urinary track by cleaning the kidney.
